FlyReady is an independent website that helps you check cabin bag sizes, UK airport liquid rules and what you can take on a plane — before you get to the airport.
Why this site exists
Baggage and security rules are spread across dozens of airline, airport and government pages, and they change. Many travel articles repeat out-of-date numbers without saying where they came from. We bring the rules together, link each one to its official source and show when we last checked it.
Where our information comes from
We use sources in this order of priority:
- GOV.UK and other official UK government guidance
- The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)
- Official airport websites
- Official airline websites
Other websites may help us spot that something has changed, but they are never the basis of a rule. If an airline or airport page disagrees with another official source, we show the more cautious reading, explain the difference and link to both.
Last-checked dates
Every rule shows the date we last checked it against the official airline, airport or government source. Airport security rules are flagged as possibly out of date after 60 days, and other rules after 90 days, until we check them again.
What we don't do
- We don't guess. If we haven't verified a rule, we say so.
- We don't present a rule as universal when it depends on your airline, fare, route, terminal or destination.
- We aren't affiliated with any airline, airport or government body, and we can't make decisions about your journey.
Rules can change
Airlines and airports can change their rules at short notice. Always confirm with your airline and with your departure, connecting and return airports before you travel. Security staff have the final say at the checkpoint.
How we make money
Some pages may include links to products on Amazon UK. If you buy through them we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. This never affects the rules we show. See our affiliate disclosure.
