Ryanair
Ryanair’s free cabin bag limit is 40 × 30 × 20 cm. It must fit under the seat in front of you. A second, larger bag — up to 55 × 40 × 20 cm and 10 kg — is only included if you book Priority & 2 Cabin Bags.

Depends on what you book
| What you booked | Small personal bag | 10kg cabin bag |
|---|---|---|
| Fare without Priority | Yes | No — not included |
| Priority & 2 Cabin Bags | Yes | Yes |
So on a fare without Priority & 2 Cabin Bags, everything you carry on board has to go in one bag no bigger than 40 × 30 × 20 cm. That’s roughly a small backpack or a large handbag, not a wheeled case.
Both Ryanair bags share the same 20 cm depth limit. Many suitcases sold as “cabin size” are built for deeper allowances — easyJet allows 56 × 45 × 25 cm; Jet2.com allows 56 × 45 × 25 cm; British Airways allows 56 × 45 × 25 cm; Wizz Air allows 55 × 40 × 23 cm. A case made for those can be too deep for Ryanair even if the height and width are fine. Measure the depth at the thickest point, including any front pockets, once it’s packed. Packing cubes on Amazon UK (opens in a new tab) (paid link) can help keep a soft bag from bulging.
A bag that doesn’t meet the allowance you’ve booked may not be accepted in the cabin and may have to go in the hold for a fee. We don’t quote fees because they change — check Ryanair’s bag rules for the current amount, and add a bag to your booking in advance if you know you’ll need one.
Ryanair normally carries larger sports equipment in the hold up to 20 kg, and bicycles up to 30 kg. Electric bicycles are not accepted. Smaller kit that fits within your cabin allowance can travel under the normal cabin bag rules.
